The Championship will be played at Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan Pine Glen Course. Teams must be comprised of four amateur golfers with the following Exceptions: (You cannot have won more than $750 per year in the past 5 years in any professional golf event) & teaching pros are allowed to play. Handicaps will not be required. Official Scorekeepers will be provided at all the holes. The entry fee is $100 per player. The 1st & 2nd place finishers, $500, $250, will be donated to their charity of choice.
2. Rules of the Championship Tournaments will be a 4-person team scramble format. Each team is made up of four players; each of the four members of the team shall hit one tee shot on every hole. The team then selects one tee shot and continues to play from that point. This procedure is repeated until the ball is holed out. Each team member must play his/her shot from within one club length of the selected shot except when on the putting green where the ball can only be placed 6” from the selected shot. However, the ball may not be placed closer to the hole and before the one club length is taken if the selected shot was in the fairway, each player must place his/her ball in the fairway to play the next shot. Likewise, if the selected shot was in the rough, bunker, water hazard, fringe, etc., each member of the team must place their ball in, and play from, respectively, the same condition as the selected shot. In every instance, each team member may place the ball. In other words, all balls are played at preferred lies and winter rules. Team members may rake bunkers between shots. Once the team’s ball has reached the putting green, the ball should be marked, and another spot should be marked approximately 6 inches to the side (no nearer to the hole). This will allow the team to mark the ball so that all players can putt from the same spot without being disturbed by the ball marker. When putts are missed, they should not be holed out until all players have attempted their putt. Once a ball is holed out, play is completed for that hole. Golfers should verify their score with the scorekeepers before moving on to the next hole. Local course rules apply for all out of bounds, water hazards, etc. The Tournament officials and the RJI Staff decisions will settle questions and determine regulations regarding course setup, rules, eligibility, and scoring in its sole discretion. If there is a 1st place tie, we will have a sudden victory playoff starting with the 9th hole. & then if there is still a tie, we will go back and play hole 9.
3. Million Dollar Hole in One Challenge; 1 player will qualify during the Championship Tournament. The player closest to the pin from a hole & distance TBD. The qualifier will have an opportunity to hit one shot for a Hole-In-One to win $1,000,000 (40-year annuity)
